Members of the Singleton Reynolds team — including Counsel John R. Singleton and Partner Robert A. Hodgins — are or have been involved with teaching the Construction Law course at UBC. As a preeminent Canadian construction law firm, our lawyers are knowledgeable teachers on a myriad of topics including contract negotiation, procurement, insurance law, and claims for extras and delays. For more information on this course and others offered in the law program at the University of British Columbia, contact the Peter A. Allard School of Law.
Glenn Urquhart Q.C. and his construction litigation team join the firm to form Singleton Urquhart with offices in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. Head office moves to 1125 Howe Street.
A Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne and Partner at SR, Sharon Vogel teaches the International Construction Law course at Melbourne Law School. Focused on cross-border contracts, dispute avoidance and resolution, differences in international financing and procurement, and international construction contacts, this course is part of the Masters of Construction Law program at the university, one of only three programs like it in the world.
This Certificate in Construction Law is a practical, comprehensive program taught over five days at York University’s Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto. Partners Sharon Vogel and Bruce Reynolds addressed construction contracts, insurance, surety bonds and dispute resolution. This dedicated certificate program is now in its ninth year.
These are not the only members of the SR team influencing the next generation:
Partner Roger E. Holland is a guest lecturer at the Professional Legal Training Course given by The Law Society of British Columbia for articling law students.
Carlos S. Mendes, another SR Partner, is a regular guest lecturer on the legalities of opening and operating a commercial brewery in British Columbia, his specialty, at both Simon Fraser University and Kwantlen Polytechnic University.
Counsel Stephen Berezowskyj and Partner Betsy Segal teach the “Architect and the Law” section of intern training at the Architectural Institute of British Columbia.
From our start in 1982 to today, with offices in Toronto and Vancouver and the ability to serve clients across the country, we’re growing and we’re continuing to build our reputation based on a track record of excellence, integrity and hard work.
